The Great Wave is a woodblock print by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai. It was distributed at some point somewhere in the range of 1829 and 1833 in the late Edo time frame as the primary print in Hokusai’s arrangement Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. It is Hokusai’s most acclaimed work, and one of the most conspicuous works of Japanese art on the planet.
